David Mathews Center for Civic Life

The David Mathews Center for Civic Engagement is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit and nonpartisan organization located in Montevallo, Alabama. The David Mathews Center has conducted forums, town hall meetings and research across the State of Alabama in order to engage and inform the public about civic engagement and innovation in decision making. Many of the projects done by the David Mathews Center are accomplished through partnerships with Federal organizations, State organizations, communities, and Universities within the State of Alabama.

Some of the more notable programs offered by the Center include:The Alabama Issues Forum (AIF), The Citizens Congress, Teacher’s Institute, and the Coaching Community Innovation Workshops (CCIW).The David Mathews Center along with the Truman Pierce Institute and the Office of Professional and Continuing Education (OPCE) will be partnering to present this years Alabama Issues Forum . The title of the forum is entitled “Be a Hero, Take a Stand” and will focus on bullying in schools.

The David Mathews Center will be facilitating a forum with the help of Mrs. Cristin Foster at Pebble Hill during the SES week entitled “What kind of education can best serve citizens of the 21st Century?”.
