Xavia Harrington

Xavia Harrington, a native South Carolinian, graduated from Claflin University in May 2010 with a Bachelors of Arts in English Education and certification to teach grades 7-12. While at Claflin, she was a member of the Alice Carson Tisdale Honors College and a member of several academic and professional associations including National Council of the Teachers of English (NCTE) and Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL). On May 7, 2012, Xavia graduated from Auburn University with a Masters of Arts in Rhetoric and Composition and will relocate to Frankfort, Kentucky to begin her role as an English Instructor on the collegiate level.

For Xavia, education involves both formal and informal modes of learning and growing.  Therefore, she believes that education should promote learners better equipped to serve themselves, their chosen institution(s) of learning, and their communities.
